Gemstone Removal

Step by step guide

Step by Step

  • Aftagning af smykkesten 1

    1. Cut off the gemstone

The first thing you need to do is remove the gemstone from your nail. There are several ways to do this.

To gently remove gemstones from your nail, you can try using your cuticle scissors to carefully clip them off. Place the tip of the cuticle scissors under the gemstone and carefully clip until the stone loosens and falls off. Be careful not to damage your natural nail or the underlying product.

    2. File off the gemstone

If you find that the stone is firmly attached, you can use a nail file or our Electric Nail File to gently file around the edges. This can help loosen the stone if you have a lot of Top Coat on, making it easier to file off or remove.

    3. Remove residue from the surface

Once the gemstone has been removed, there may be unevenness left from the Top Coat it was attached to. To smooth the surface, use a file with either 180 or 220 grit, depending on how much Top Coat remains on the nail. After filing away the majority of the Top Coat, you can use a buffer to even out the surface and remove any remaining product.

    4. Apply Top Coat

If you still want to keep your nails as they are without gemstones, you can apply a layer of Top Coat to give the nail a beautiful and smooth finish. Cure your Top Coat in our UV/LED lamp for 60–90 seconds. You can also remove the entire design if you want to create a new nail. You can find all our removal videos in our guide universe.
