    1. Start filing off the product

The first thing you need to do when removing your products with our electric nail file is to choose and attach the right bit for removing the product you are wearing. This guide is for Polygel, and for that we recommend using a ceramic bit such as the Ceramic Fine Flame ST 3/32. Alternatively, you can also use a Mandrel Bit with a 100 or 180 grit sanding band.

To attach your chosen bit, turn the shaft of the electric nail file to the left until you hear a click, and to lock the bit in place, turn it to the right. It is very important that your electric nail file is not turned on while changing bits.

Once you have attached the desired bit, carefully begin filing off the product. When removing your Polygel with our electric nail file, it is important that you never file all the way down to your natural nail, as you risk damaging it. Take your time, and feel free to pause along the way to check how much Polygel you have removed. Better a little too cautious than too eager!

Remove the product from top to bottom – from the cuticle to the tip of the nail. It is important to keep the file moving at all times. Never let the file run over the same spot, as this can cause damage to the nail and even burn the nail plate.

We recommend switching to a Bit Small Ceramic Flame 3/32 (2) along the way to get close to the nail edges. Here it is important to work at a low speed and with gentle movements. Alternatively, you can also use a Diamond Bit – Cone-Shaped, Medium. This makes it easier to reach the edges at the base and sides of the nail without filing into the cuticle or the skin around the nail.

It is important to keep a light and gentle hand when using our electric nail file. Do not press the nail file down onto the nail. Instead, start at a low speed and let your electric nail file glide across the nail until you get to know your machine.

    2. Remove the remaining product

Once you have removed most of the product, we recommend switching to a Mandrel Bit with a 240 grit sanding band to file off the remaining product. As you get closer to your natural nail, it is a good idea to lower the speed of the electric nail file. By reducing the speed, you protect your nails as much as possible. Remember to use gentle movements and let the file glide across the nail.

Along the way, you can again switch bits if you want to reach the sides of the nails. We recommend using our Diamond Bit – Cone-Shaped, Medium if you are experienced with an electric nail file. If you are still new to the electric nail file, we recommend removing the product closest to your cuticles with a handheld nail file. Once you feel comfortable switching to the electric nail file, it is important to start slowly so you can get to know the machine.

    3. Remove any residue

Once you have removed your Polygel and the excess dust from your nails, there may still be a few small traces left. You can easily remove these by simply buffing your nail with our buffer.

This will leave you with a smooth and clean nail plate – ready for a new product or to shine with beautiful natural nails!

    4. Clean the nails

Wash your hands thoroughly, and then apply cuticle oil. Massage the oil in around the cuticles and under the nails for maximum care.

Cuticle oil provides your nails with the nourishment they need to stay strong and healthy. It prevents dryness, promotes healthy growth, and keeps your cuticles soft and well cared for – so your hands always look beautiful and well-groomed.

Which bit is best for removal?
It is difficult to say which bit is best for removing the product, as it depends on your skill level. If you are completely new to the electric nail file, we recommend starting at a low speed with a Mandrel Bit with a Sanding Band, as it mimics a handheld nail file. If you are a bit more experienced, you can try a fine ceramic bit and work your way up from there. Take your time in the beginning so you can learn the technique and avoid damaging your beautiful nails.
