Nail Protectors

Step by step guide

In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to use Nail Protectors. Nail Protectors are self-adhesive rubber that protects the skin around your nails. They prevent gel products from coming into contact with the skin during application and thereby reduce the risk of your skin being exposed to the product.

Step by Step

  • Nail Protectors 1

    1. Apply your Nail Protectors

Nail Protectors are applied before you begin working with your gel products. Apply the Nail Protectors around the nail so that the entire nail plate is free, while all the skin around the nail is covered. Once you are satisfied with how your Nail Protectors are placed, press them down firmly.

    2. Apply your products

Once your Nail Protectors are in place, you can begin applying your products to the nail. Here we apply Base Coat, Gel Polish, and Top Coat. If, during application, you happen to touch your Nail Protector with the product, it is important to remove it with a Micro Brush and Cleanser to avoid creating an air pocket between the nail and the product. If you cure any product on top of your Nail Protector, there will already be lifting when you remove the Nail Protector, which will compromise the durability of your gel products.

Alternatively, you can apply Nail Protectors and remove them before each curing. However, this is a bit inconvenient, so we always recommend simply removing any product that may have touched outside your nail plate.

    3. Remove your Nail Protectors

Once you have applied all your gel products and finished with Top Coat, you can remove the Nail Protectors. You now have beautiful nails without having gotten any product on the skin.
